Associate Visiting Professor Tiffany Skidmore received $5,000 from UB’s Civic Engagement Research Fund in support for her proposed collaboration between Buffalo String Works, PhD in Composition students, and the Europe based violin duo, Duo Gelland. Their joint concert will take place on June 5 at 6 p.m. in Slee Hall.
The University at Buffalo Department of Music is very pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Scott as Professor of Music beginning in the fall of 2024. Professor Scott is currently Associate Professor of Horn at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, a position he will depart at the end of this academic year.

Following on the heels of her performance with the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective and Hilary Hahn at Wigmore Hall in London, UB Professor Melissa White makes her Carnegie Hall debut with pianist Nargiz Aliyarova, playing a concert dedicated to Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev that also includes music by Brahms, Beach, and Chopin.
The two-day multi-disciplinary performance art tour involved faculty and students from UB’s College of Arts and Sciences and took place over several hours on April 26 and 27. This was the first iteration of Inhabiting Spaces, which is intended as a multi-year project involving faculty, students, and community partners. Arts Management student Lili Stern assists with production management and event coordination.
